Embark on a transformative journey deep into the Peruvian Amazon with our 4-Day / 3-Night Adventure at Amazon Andes Expeditions. This program is designed for travelers seeking an authentic and complete immersion into one of the most important ecosystems on Earth.
Your adventure begins with a scenic navigation along the Amazon River, the largest and most powerful river in the world. Along the way, you will witness the confluence of the Nanay and Amazon rivers, admire vast landscapes of lush rainforest, and observe the daily life of riverside communities. Each day is carefully planned to combine exploration, cultural encounters, and moments of relaxation at our comfortable jungle lodge.
Guided by expert bilingual guides, you will walk rainforest trails to learn about the powerful medicinal plants used for centuries by Indigenous communities, and discover the secrets of the forest’s flora and fauna. The program includes a visit to wildlife rescue centers where you can see emblematic animals such as the anaconda, the gentle sloth, colorful toucans, and playful monkeys roaming freely on river islands. You will also have the unique opportunity to spot the rare and enchanting pink river dolphins, a true highlight of any Amazon journey.
Cultural immersion is an essential part of this experience. At the Yagua Indigenous community, you will be welcomed through traditional dances, handicrafts, and stories that reveal the ancestral knowledge and traditions of Amazonian peoples. At night, the jungle transforms into a new world: join mystical storytelling sessions, take part in night walks to hear the symphony of nocturnal creatures, or embark on optional canoe rides under the moonlight.
Every moment is complemented with freshly prepared meals featuring Amazonian flavors, and comfortable accommodations designed for rest after each day’s adventure. Whether it’s swimming in the river, fishing at sunset, or visiting a butterfly farm to release butterflies into the wild, this journey offers a rich variety of activities that balance excitement, discovery, and relaxation.
By the end of this expedition, you will not only have explored the Amazon’s natural wonders but also gained a deeper connection to the culture, traditions, and life that make this region truly extraordinary. Amazon Andes Expeditions invites you to live the Amazon in a way that will stay with you forever.

Although wildlife sightings can never be 100% guaranteed, the confluence of the Nanay and Amazon Rivers is one of the best places to spot both pink and gray river dolphins. Many travelers consider this moment — when the blackwater meets the milky-brown Amazon — one of the highlights of the journey.
We recommend lightweight clothing, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and comfortable walking shoes. A rain poncho or light jacket is also useful, as showers are common in the Amazon. Don’t forget your camera and binoculars for wildlife viewing!
Yes. The lodge provides comfortable cabins with basic amenities and mosquito nets. The excursions are moderate and designed for all ages. Families with children, couples, and older travelers can all enjoy the program. If you have mobility concerns, let us know in advance so we can adapt activities accordingly.
Yes. The lodge can accommodate vegetarian and some special dietary requirements with advance notice. Meals are prepared with fresh local ingredients, offering a balance of Amazonian and Peruvian flavors.
The lodge offers limited solar-powered electricity, mainly for lighting and charging small devices. Internet and phone signal are generally unavailable, making this an excellent opportunity to disconnect and fully enjoy the natural environment.
The Amazon can be visited year-round. The high-water season (December–May) allows canoe rides through flooded forests, while the low-water season (June–November) is best for hiking and wildlife spotting along riverbanks.
We recommend consulting your physician about vaccines for yellow fever and other travel-related precautions.
