1. Booking Confirmation, Deposit, and Payment Terms

A booking with Amazon & Andes Expedition E.I.R.L. (AAE) is considered confirmed only after receipt of the required deposit.

Deposit

  • 30% deposit per person is required to confirm any trip booking.

  • The deposit will be deducted from the total trip cost.

  • Payment instructions and a secure online payment link will be sent via email.

  • Payments made by credit or debit card are subject to a 5% card processing fee.

Balance Payment

  • The remaining 70% balance must be paid no later than 24 hours prior to the tour start date.

  • Credit/debit card payments are subject to a 5% processing fee.

  • Alternatively, the balance may be paid in cash at the AAE office.

  • Cash payments must be made using banknotes in perfect condition. Torn, wrinkled, stained, or damaged notes will not be accepted.

The deposit is refundable only in accordance with the Cancellation and Refund Policy outlined below.


2. Postponement Policy

Amazon Andes Expeditions allows clients to postpone their trip once, to any available date within 12 months of the original booking date, subject to availability.

  • No postponement fee applies.

  • Price differences due to seasonality, availability, or operational changes may apply.


3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

30 Days or Less Before Trip Start Date

  • All cancellations are non-refundable.

  • Clients may request a postponement in accordance with the Postponement Policy.

31 Days or More Before Trip Start Date

  • Eligible for a 75% refund of amounts paid.

  • All bank, card processing, and transfer fees are the responsibility of the client.

  • Clients may alternatively choose to postpone their trip.

After Trip Commencement

  • Once a tour or program has begun, no refunds will be issued.

  • Any costs related to early termination or return to the city (including transportation, accommodation, meals, communications, or other expenses) are entirely the responsibility of the client.


4. Responsibilities and Limitations of Liability

Amazon & Andes Expedition E.I.R.L. shall not be held responsible for losses, damages, delays, or disruptions arising from:

  • Airline operations, including flight delays, cancellations, overbooking, or lost luggage.

  • Illness, injury, or medical conditions affecting the traveler.

  • Political unrest, strikes, natural disasters, weather conditions, river conditions, pandemics, or other force majeure events beyond the company’s control.

  • Acts or omissions of third-party service providers.


5. Travel Insurance

All travelers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for:

  • Medical emergencies

  • Trip cancellation or interruption

  • Evacuation and repatriation

  • Loss of personal belongings

Failure to obtain travel insurance is done at the traveler’s own risk.


6. Guest Code of Conduct

All guests are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully toward:

  • Local communities and Indigenous peoples

  • Wildlife and the natural environment

  • AAE staff, guides, and fellow travelers

Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the tour or property without refund and, where applicable, legal action.

Respectful Behavior

  • Abusive, aggressive, discriminatory, or offensive language or behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Under Peruvian law, verbal abuse may constitute a criminal offense.

Wildlife and Ethical Standards

  • Handling, feeding, or disturbing wildlife is strictly prohibited.

  • Tours are observation-based, not interaction-based.

Prohibited Activities

  • Solicitation of drugs, sexual services, or unethical demands toward staff or community members is strictly forbidden.

  • Any illegal activity will result in immediate removal and possible referral to authorities.


7. Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

Guests acknowledge that travel in remote and wilderness areas involves inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, illness, wildlife encounters, and environmental hazards.

By booking with Amazon Andes Expeditions, guests voluntarily assume all such risks and agree to release and hold harmless Amazon Andes Expeditions, its owners, employees, guides, and affiliates from liability for injury, illness, loss, or death, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct under applicable Peruvian law.


8. Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Peru.

Any dispute, claim, or legal proceeding arising from or related to the services provided shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Peru.


9. Image and Media Usage Rights

By participating in AAE tours, guests grant Amazon Andes Expeditions the right to use photographs and videos taken during the trip for promotional and marketing purposes, including websites, brochures, and social media, without financial compensation.

Guests who do not wish to appear in promotional materials must notify AAE in writing via email prior to the start of the trip.


10. Final Provisions

  • The lead passenger is responsible for ensuring that all group members have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

  • Amazon Andes Expeditions reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.

  • Continued use of services after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

  • If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, you should not proceed with booking.


11. Consent to Terms

By submitting payment for any tour or service with Amazon Andes Expeditions, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
