Your guide will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to the Bellavista Nanay port. Along the way, you’ll be introduced to the day’s adventures and learn about the unique ecosystems of the Nanay River, the village of Padrecocha, and the Momón River. At Bellavista Nanay, your guide will take you through the bustling local market, where you can see a wide variety of Amazonian fish, exotic fruits, traditional dishes, and unique regional products that reflect the rich culture of the Peruvian Amazon.
Board a motorized boat and begin navigating upriver along the Nanay. Admire its black-water reflections, riverbank vegetation, and the everyday life of local fishermen and families who depend on the river.
Arrive at Padrecocha village and visit the Kukama Maloca (community house). You’ll be welcomed with traditional songs, dances, and stories that preserve their ancestral worldview. Discover their native language, symbolic body painting, and beautifully crafted handicrafts made from natural forest fibers and seeds.
Continue to Pilpintuwasi, a conservation project dedicated to Amazonian butterflies and rescued wildlife. Observe the full metamorphosis of butterflies from egg to adult, and meet animals such as monkeys, anteaters, and macaws, all protected in natural enclosures. This is both an educational and inspiring stop that supports local conservation.
Stop at the famous floating restaurant on the Nanay River. Enjoy regional specialties such as fresh fish, juane, or tacacho with cecina (meals not included). The restaurant also offers leisure areas for volleyball, soccer, and even jet-ski rentals. Guests can bring swimsuits for a refreshing dip in the river.
For thrill-seekers, take part in an adrenaline-filled canopy walk across hanging bridges and zipline through the treetops, experiencing the Amazon from above. (Entrance fees not included).
Board your boat for a scenic ride back, reflecting on the day’s cultural and natural highlights.
Arrive in Iquitos and transfer back to your hotel, completing your full-day Amazon adventure.

Yes. The Iquitos city tour runs year-round and is suitable in both the dry and rainy seasons. Rain showers are common in the Amazon, but they are usually short and the tour continues as planned. We recommend bringing a light rain jacket or poncho to stay comfortable.
We recommend booking at least 24–48 hours in advance to guarantee your spot and allow us to arrange logistics such as guides and transportation. Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability, but cannot always be guaranteed.
