This is a true camping expedition inside Pacaya Samiria National Park, one of the most biodiverse places in the Amazon. Unlike lodge-based tours, you will live the adventure as explorers do: camping, fishing, hiking, and observing wildlife in pristine habitats.
Yes. We use modern motorboats equipped with life jackets for all passengers. The trips are safe and comfortable, with opportunities to relax and enjoy the spectacular river scenery. During excursions into smaller rivers or blackwater creeks, we use smaller wooden boats for a more intimate Amazon experience.
We recommend bringing lightweight long-sleeve clothing, rubber boots, a rain poncho, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat/cap, a personal flashlight or headlamp, extra batteries, a reusable water bottle, and personal medications. These items will ensure your comfort and safety during the camping adventure.
You’ll likely spot pink and gray dolphins, caimans, monkeys, capybaras, sloths, turtles, and countless bird species. Wildlife encounters depend on luck, weather, and seasonal conditions.
Yes. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and other special dietary requirements with prior notice. Please inform us of your needs at the time of booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.
We recommend consulting your physician about vaccines for yellow fever and other travel-related precautions.
Both high-water (February–July) and low-water (August–January) seasons offer unique experiences.
High-water season: easier river navigation, more dolphin sightings.
Low-water season: excellent for jungle hikes and concentrated wildlife viewing.
Tours in Pacaya Samiria involve special permits, professional park-licensed guides, and longer logistics compared to lodge-based tours near Iquitos. Additionally, because the park is remote and pristine, camping expeditions require full expedition gear, food, and transport, making it a premium, authentic wilderness experience that justifies the higher price.
