This 4-Day / 3-Night Deep Jungle Expedition takes you to the heart of Pacaya Samiria National Park, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the Peruvian Amazon. Known as the “Jungle of Mirrors” for its blackwater rivers that perfectly reflect the surrounding rainforest, this region is home to pink and gray river dolphins, countless bird species, monkeys, sloths, caimans, giant river otters, and even elusive anacondas.
Designed for true adventurers, this camping-based experience immerses you fully in the wild. You will travel by motorboat and traditional wooden boats (pamacaris), set up camp along the riverside, and explore pristine primary rainforest by day and night. Along the way, you’ll learn survival techniques, spot rare wildlife, and experience Amazonian life as few ever do.
This program is ideal for travelers seeking more than a glimpse of the Amazon — it’s a deep, hands-on expedition into one of the most magical and remote areas of Peru.

This tour offers an authentic Amazon camping experience inside Pacaya Samiria National Park, one of the most biodiverse reserves on Earth. Unlike lodge-based tours, you’ll camp in the wild, travel in traditional boats, and experience the rainforest as explorers do
Yes. We use modern motorboats equipped with life jackets for all passengers. The trips are safe and comfortable, with opportunities to relax and enjoy the spectacular river scenery. During excursions into smaller rivers or blackwater creeks, we use smaller wooden boats for a more intimate Amazon experience.
We recommend bringing lightweight long-sleeve clothing, rubber boots, a rain poncho, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat/cap, a personal flashlight or headlamp, extra batteries, a reusable water bottle, and personal medications. These items will ensure your comfort and safety during the camping adventure.
You’ll likely spot pink and gray dolphins, caimans, monkeys, capybaras, sloths, turtles, and countless bird species. Wildlife encounters depend on luck, weather, and seasonal conditions.
Yes. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and other special dietary requirements with prior notice. Please inform us of your needs at the time of booking so we can make the necessary arrangements.
We recommend consulting your physician about vaccines for yellow fever and other travel-related precautions.
The park offers incredible experiences year-round. High-water season (February–July) makes river exploration easier, while low-water season (August–January) is excellent for hiking and wildlife spotting.
Tours in Pacaya Samiria involve special permits, professional park-licensed guides, and longer logistics compared to lodge-based tours near Iquitos. Additionally, because the park is remote and pristine, camping expeditions require full expedition gear, food, and transport, making it a premium, authentic wilderness experience that justifies the higher price.
